How To Show Up Confidently Even When You Don’t Feel It.
Hey business besties,
I wanted to take some time today and write this blog post and yep - its truly me doing the writing. I have been trying to write my own copy and captions lately on things as I think that we are getting a little too AI happy with the chatgpt everything!
Today, I want to talk about showing up confidently even when we don’t totally feel like it. This is a topic that we discussed on my podcast in this week’s episode all about nailing your personal brand and elevator pitch so that you can show up with confidence in your abilities when showcasing your skills to the world.
Crafting your elevator pitch goes something like this: (Here’s where Chat-GPT can come into play) PROMPT: “based on everything you know about me and the work we do together write a 1-2 sentence elevator pitch about what I do and my services”
It should sound something like this: My name is ____________ and I provide these services ____________ and ________________. I work directly with ________________ to accomplish _______________. So for example my elevator pitch is “My name is Brianna Hall I am a brand strategist for high impact women in business and brand photographer. I work directly with women who own businesses to bring their visual identity to life.”
Sometimes I don’t always feel like that, sometimes the imposter syndrome sounds like “you can’t do it… you don’t even know what you are doing” yeah, well neither did Walt Disney or Henry Ford okay. Neither did Oprah Winfrey or even Martha Stewart, they just did and they kept doing until it started getting noticed.
That is what I would encourage of you friends, to just keep going. Keep showing up and putting yourself out there. Keep editing your little videos and starting your little businesses until you start getting noticed.
Confidence for me comes from repetitive practice to get better. Which is so true of any skill that you learn, hardly anyone is good right away at any one thing. Skills take time to develop - olympic athletes were not good overnight. As they say “Rome wasn’t built in a day!” I am not sure why we put so much pressure on ourselves to be perfect all of the time. It is more than okay to have a learning phase. My true opinion is that we probably put more pressure on ourselves than anyone else puts on us or has expectations of us to accomplish.
Your friends, your family and those you barely know? They are out here impressed by you already! So stop worrying, and start doing. Perfect that elevator pitch so that you know exactly what you do and what you can offer people (and then go tell them!!) People just aren’t buying from you or using you for their services because they don’t know you exist or don’t know you offer something!
Currently I am exploring my business savvy dreams in South Carolina by marketing myself to businesses as a brand strategist and brand photographer looking to help small businesses show up more professionally online and on their websites. I would love for you to share this blog to help spread the word to other moms and entrepreneurs who are hustling to bring in money a non-traditional way.
Thanks for reading and until next time, I love you guys!
xoxo Brea
